Access to the Infraestructure
Companies and Public Administrations
Type of access available
Access by companies and public sector organisations to BasQ's quantum infrastructure is managed by means of a specific protocol that seeks to guarantee an efficient, equitable and strategic use of resources, maximising impact on R&D, transfer, innovation and consolidation of the Basque quantum ecosystem.
The model distinguishes different access modes depending on the type of actor.
Previous requirements and conditions
- Access is conceived as a collaborative relationship with BasQ and may require commitments of return to the ecosystem (structural or cyclical) proportional to the type of actor, project and level of access requested.
- All requests are subject to strategic-technical assessment and capacity availability.
- Access is always formalised through the signing of a collaboration agreement between Ikerbasque and the requesting entity, including aspects such as confidentiality, intellectual property, responsible use and return commitments.
Step 1 - Prepare the request
The request must include the information indicated in the protocol (Annex):
- Title and description of the project or use case.
- Estimate of quantum resources required (e.g., number of qubits, circuit depth, type of algorithm and preferred backend).
- Estimated duration of the project.
- List of participants and roles (access is granted only to duly identified individuals directly involved in the project).
- Commitments to collaborate with BasQ.
- Details of the entity (including information on its headquarters/offices in the Basque Country and typology according to the protocol).
Step 2 - Submit the request
Please send your request by e-mail to: access@basquequantum.eus
Step 3 - Assessment and resolution
Requests are evaluated by the Access Assessment Committee, which assesses the suitability considering criteria such as: nature of the applicant, potential impact, scientific-technical or business return, alignment with the BasQ strategy and technical feasibility of the use case.
Step 4 - Formalising access
If the assessment is positive, access is formalised by signing the corresponding agreement, which will include: period of use, technical conditions (if applicable), commitments to return and communicate results and confidentiality and intellectual property clauses.
Step 5 - Follow-up
Entities with access must submit an annual progress report (preferably as a list of projects), with aggregated and traceable information on the use cases developed and participation in ecosystem activities, respecting confidentiality and applicable regulations.
