Joaquim Jornet-Somoza
UPV/EHU
Dr. Joaquim Jornet-Somoza is a theoretical chemist specializing in ab initio studies of molecular magnets, light–matter interactions, and molecular dynamics. He has authored 26 peer-reviewed papers—mostly in top-quartile journals—with over 1300 citations, and participated in more than 20 competitive R&D projects. Currently, he is a Scientific Computing Expert at SGIker (UPV/EHU, Spain), managing the high-performance computing facilities and advising researchers. Awarded a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship, Juan de la Cierva Fellowship, and Beatriu de Pinós Fellowship. During his career, he also developed machine-learning tools for predicting spectroscopic and chemical properties and studying excitonic energy transfer in complex systems. He is also a developer of the OCTOPUS code (for real time TDDFT) and currently joined the Qiskit Advocate program for promoting the quantum computation.
