Title: “Quantum simulation for High energy nuclear physics”
Abstract: Many aspects of interest in high energy nuclear physics are related to emergent many-body properties of QCD, such as hadronic structure explored in DIS experiments or the hydrodynamical quark gluon plasma produced in heavy ion collisions. Such questions find a direct connection to several new research directions in the simulation of lattice (gauge) models in real-time, propelled but the development of tensor network and quantum computing tools. In this talk, I will first review some open questions relating to the out of equilibrium properties of matter produced in heavy ion collisions. I will then discuss how some of the open questions, which are not accessible using standard QCD techniques, could in principle be studied using quantum simulators.
