Miguel López Varga

I'm Miguel López Varga, an experimental physicist and Head of Laboratory of the Quantum Nanophotonics Laboratory at the Materials Physics Center (CFM/MPC).
My career has focused on quantum photonics and experimental development, working on the generation and characterization of quantum states, state and process tomography, entangled photon sources, and optical instrumentation.
I have also taken part in projects on sensing, optical levitation, and the application of machine learning to experimental systems. In recent years, I have increasingly steered my work towards technological maturation and the connection between the laboratory, technology centers, and industry.
As a BasQ Advocate, I want to help identify capabilities, needs, and collaboration opportunities in quantum communications, sensing, and quantum for space, helping to build bridges between research, technological development, and real-world applications.
