BasQ Director Javier Aizpurua takes part in two international forums on quantum algorithms and computing

October 27, 2026

Javier Aizpurua, Director of BasQ, is participating in two international scientific events, strengthening the presence of the Basque quantum ecosystem in forums dedicated to quantum algorithms and computational methods.

Last week, Aizpurua took part in the Workshop on Quantum Algorithms for Partial Differential Equations, held in Dublin. He joined the round table “Quantum Panel Discussion” alongside speakers from Trinity College Dublin, Imperial College London and the UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA).

On Wednesday, 28 October, Aizpurua will deliver a plenary lecture entitled “Fundamentals and applications of Quantum Computing” at the XLVII Ibero-Latin American Congress on Computational Methods in Engineering (CILAMCE 2026), to be held in Bogotá (Colombia). He is one of six plenary speakers in the programme, which also features researchers from Columbia University, TU Wien, Universidade de Brasília, Universidad Nacional de Colombia and Universidad de Santiago de Chile.

These contributions form part of BasQ’s work to raise the visibility of the Basque quantum ecosystem in international scientific and technical forums, and to foster collaboration with research communities in Europe and Latin America.
