Open your mind, dive into quantics!

In light of the fact that this year we are celebrating the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (UN), Kutxa Fundazioa and DIPC present the talks “Kuantikaz blai! - ¡Empápate de Cuántica!”.

Ikerbasque professor at DIPC Aran Garcia-Lekue, physicist and expert in nanoelectronics, invites us to dive into the fascinating subatomic and nanoscale world, invisible to the eye, dominated by laws that defy our intuition. In a language accessible to all audiences, this talk, "Aldatu txipa, murgildu kuantikan!" introduces the main properties of quantum physics and discovers that today we are surrounded by everyday devices and applications that use these same properties. It will also show us the impact that the so-called “second quantum revolution” could have on our lives in the future.

The conference will be in Basque.

About the speaker

Aran Garcia-Lekue is Ikerbasque researcher and director of Strategic Projects at DIPC. She has a degree in Physics and a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from the UPV/EHU. Her research comprises the development and application of computational tools for the simulation of electronic quantum properties at the nanoscale. Her main research lines in recent years have been focused on molecular electronics and low-dimensional materials, specifically on graphene nanostructures. These materials have a great future in nanoelectronics and quantum computing.
